Introduction
Aditya Hridayam meaning is “The Heart of Aditya (Sun God)”.
Aditya Hridayam is another very powerful stotra praising the Sun god and is written by Maharishi Agastya. It is first recited in yuddha Kanda of Ramayana (of Valmiki) Aditya Hridayam as the name indicates is the prayer to Lord Sun for achieving success in all our endeavors.
History
The Lord Sun dispels the obstacles that come on the way. Sri Rama too achieved success by praying to Lord Sun. When God incarnates as man he likes to behave like a man in order to set an example. So lord Rama worshiped the Sun.
Sage Agastya teaches Lord Rama, who is fatigued after the long battle with various fighters of Lanka, this procedure of worshiping Surya for strength to defeat Ravana.
This holy hymn dedicated to the Sun deity will result in destroying all enemies and bring you victory and never ending supreme bliss. He is Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Skands, Prajapati.
He is also Mahendra, kubera, kala, yama, soma and varuna. He is the pitrs, vasus, sadhyas, aswini devas, maruts, manu, vayu, agni, prana and, being the source of all energy and light, is the maker of all the six seasons.
He is the son of Aditi, creator of the universe, inspirer of action, transversal of the heavens. He is the sustainer, illumination of all directions, the golden hued brilliance and is the maker of the day.
Aditya Hridayam is almost equal to entire sandhya vandana and recite it once a day & thrice on Sundays to achieve the impossible things!

తతో యుద్ధపరిశ్రాన్తం సమరే చిన్తయా స్తితమ్ |
రావణం చాగ్రతో దృష్వా యుద్ధాయ సముపస్థితమ్ ||1||
దైవతైశ్చ సమాగమ్య ద్రష్టుమభ్యాగతోరణమ్ |

అస్మిన్ క్షణే మహాబాహో రావణం త్వం వధిష్యసి |
